About Manitoba Hydro

Manitoba Hydro is the province’s largest Crown Corporation, with annual revenues approaching $2 billion and a staff of approximately 6400. The utility serves 555,760 electricity customers throughout Manitoba and Manitoba Hydro exports its electricity to the Midwestern United States and Canadian Provinces  hydro dam

Manitoba Hydro has a generation capacity of 5690 MW. Manitoba’s peak energy demand is approximately 4460 MW and total energy load is approximately 25,000 gigawatt hours.

ABOUT US

The Manitoba Public Utilities Board (the Board) is an independent quasi-judicial administrative tribunal operating under the authority of the Manitoba Legislature. While the current Public Utilities Board Act was passed in 1959 the Board has regulated services under other legislation since 1913.
