About Centra Gas

Centra Gas is wholly-owned subsidiary of Manitoba Hydro, and is the principal distributor of natural gas in the Province of Manitoba. Centra's mandate is to acquire, manage, and distribute supplies of natural gas to meet Manitoba market requirements in  a safe, cost-effective, reliable and environmentally appropriate manner.

Centra serves approximately 268,000 customers in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors through approximately 9,500 kms of transmission and distribution mains. Approximately 2,000,000 10³m³ of natural gas will be distributed in the 2013/14 Test Year through Centra's network of transmission and distribution mains.
 
Centra provides service to customers in its service territory in Manitoba by maintaining and renewing franchise agreements and crossing agreements with over 105 municipalities.

ABOUT US

The Manitoba Public Utilities Board (the Board) is an independent quasi-judicial administrative tribunal operating under the authority of the Manitoba Legislature. While the current Public Utilities Board Act was passed in 1959 the Board has regulated services under other legislation since 1913.
